Advanced Spectrometer
High-quality product obtains quantitative results at a fraction of the price! Consists of a heavy cast base and a pillar for collimator support. Telescope arm moves along a 6 in. dia. fixed circular plate that is graduated in degrees and has a double-ended vernier with a least count of 30 for better and accurate measurements. Use a knob for fine adjustments, or make coarse adjustments by hand. Both the collimator and the telescope are mounted with an axis adjustment system. Telescope has a 10X Ramsden eyepiece and is fitted with a cross hair reticle. Telescope and collimator are fitted with coated achromatic objectives of 7 in. focal length and 1-1/4 in. dia., providing light for a brighter and sharper image. Concealed rack and pinion does the focusing. The 1/4 in. L collimator slit is specially designed for retention of initial accuracy during the life of the instrument. The 3 in. dia. prism table is held with the help of a clamping screw, enabling the table to be rotated in any direction. Table has lines and concentric rings marked to assist positioning of prism in relation to leveling screws. Table is also fitted with a diffraction grating holder with a 1 in. x 1 in. aperture and a clamp for holding prisms up to 1-1/2 in. H. Includes magnifying eyeglass to read the vernier, tommy bar for axis adjustment, diffraction grating, extra dense flint glass RI prism, and flannel cloth. Comes in a wooden box.
