Augmented Reality Sandbox - 42 in. W x 32 in. D x 85 in. H
Uses 3-D visualization applications and a hands-on exhibit that combines a real sandbox, virtual topography, and water created using a closed loop of a Microsoft® Kinect 3-D camera, powerful simulation and visualization software, and a data projector. Users create topography models by shaping real sand, which is then augmented in real time by an elevation color map, topographic contour lines, and simulated water. System teaches geographic, geologic, and hydrologic concepts such as how to read a topography map, the meaning of contour lines, watersheds, catchment areas, levees, and more. Solid oak and oak plywood sandbox moves on heavy-duty locking casters. Wire management system keeps cords from interfering with the box. Handy shelf holds laptop while in use and folds away with a collapsible hinge. Includes 3-D camera, data projector, laptop loaded with visualization software, and detailed instructions for calibrating the software and running the program. 42 in. W x 32 in. D x 85 in. H (46 in. D when shelf is up). NOTE: Sand not included. Allow extra delivery time.
