This culinary careers lesson plan is part of a series that introduces students to a variety of careers within the culinary field.
Each lesson includes an interview with a professional in the field discussing the food they work with and their career in the food industry. There are also three recipes for students to try out in the classroom and a reproducible worksheet for them to complete at the end of the unit to review everything they’ve learned.
In this lesson, students will:
- Learn about and practice knife skills and cuts
- Hear about the experience of a professional working in culinary sales
- Practice preparing their own dishes that require knife skills (Summer Panzanella Salad, Savory Vegetarian Black Bean Burgers, and The Perfect Steak)
