Adding liquid starch to your powdered tempera gives you a smoother paint! Great for finger painting - just pour liquid starch onto finger paint paper, sprinkle powdered tempera on top, and let students mix with their fingers. Also an economical way to extend liquid tempera. Adding a small amount of liquid dish soap to the tempera paint mixture will help to make it more washable from clothing, etc.
