STEM Sports’ turnkey kits and curriculums use popular sports and real-life application to drive STEM-based learning in classrooms, after-school programs, and camps.
With the popular Multi-Sport program for grades 3–5 and 6–8, students will learn a variety of STEM disciplines and skills, such as critical thinking, collaboration, creative problem-solving, and leadership. Students will also explore the science of sports in new and unique ways, such as:
- Learning how to calculate their own field goal percentage, just like the greatest players in the NBA
- Gaining an understanding of energy and motion differences between a youth football and a foam football
- Learning how active play and burning calories correlate
- Discovering the technology behind optimal serving speed
The STEM Sports supplemental curriculum includes 8 lessons, 2 each from the Basketball, Football, Soccer, and Volleyball modules, providing a minimum of 16 hours of instruction that includes physical activity. The 5E sequenced lessons are specifically composed and differentiated for grades 3–5 and 6–8 and all align to NGSS, CCSS, and/or National Standards for K–12 Physical Education. Many lessons include worksheets, and the program is easily scalable for teachers, administrators, and even volunteers.
The program is available in 3 options:
- Multi-Sport Full Kit: Includes the curriculum manual and all the reusable sports equipment and science supplies needed to fully implement the program
- Multi-Sport Kit Without Sports Equipment: Includes the curriculum manual and all the reusable science supplies needed
- Multi-Sport Curriculum Manual Only: No sports equipment or science supplies included
