Nasco Hot Air Balloon Kit

Grades 6-12.

Students first build a basic hot air balloon from a blueprint to learn about how it lifts from the ground, stays afloat, and descends safely. Later, students will plan, build, and test a new design to see if they can complete a challenge. A great application of the buoyancy principle. Includes 30 poster boards, 200 sheets of tissue paper in various colors, 60 pipe cleaners (30 each of 12 in. L and 20 in. L), 15 Scotch® tape rolls (1/2 in. W), 15 fiberglass tape measures (1 meter in length), box of straight pins, box of large paper clips, 30 metal washers (1 in. dia.), heat gun, pair of crucible tongs, 15 pairs of scissors, temperature probe, USB module, tape dispenser, and educators guide (student guide is contained in the educators guide).
