Plant Food - Nutrient Deficiency in Plants

Grades 6-8.

Much like people, plants need food, too. While plants can generate some nutrients through the process of photosynthesis, there are many nutrients that the plant must obtain from the environment. Using the materials provided, you will be able to examine the effects of nutrient deficiency on plants. Specially prepared nutrient solutions (included in the kit) will allow you to deprive each plant of one of seven specific vital nutrients. Over time, they will determine the effects, if any, of the nutrient deprivation through physical observation of the plant’s growth. Contains enough material for three complete setups.
