Smart Greenhouse Kit for BBC micro:bit
Grades 6–10 Teach students about the relationship between plants and their environment through coding and engineering. With this kit, students will learn how to monitor environmental conditions and how to build automated systems that react. Grow a crop of plants with the smart greenhouse that can be coded to monitor and automatically water the plants.
The kit features a two-part plastic greenhouse, an environmental control board with a buzzer for audio feedback, a real-time clock to keep track of time, high power outputs, and an environmental sensor to measure temperatures, pressure, and humidity, a water pump to keep plants hydrated with a watering schedule, ZIP stick to set up a controllable grow lamp, and a mini prong moisture sensor to read moisture levels in the soil and keep plants well-hydrated.
Also includes 5 crocodile clips, a ZIP extension cable, a small screwdriver, and a booklet that has detailed assembly and coding instructions. The BBC micro:bit (SB53386) is not included. The kit is compatible with both micro:bit V1 and micro:bit V2. Three AA
batteries or a plug-in power supply is required.
