Thames & Kosmos Roller Coaster Engineering

Grades K and up.

Introduce students to the ups and downs of designing and building dozens of working roller coaster models. Make learning the physics of force, motion, and energy as fun as a day at the amusement park!

Conduct an action-packed series of hands-on physics and engineering lessons with the durable, modular building system. Piece together the sturdy frame structures and then attach the flexible track to it to build and test endless roller coaster designs.

As students complete a series of engineering challenges, theyll experiment with variables such as car weight, slope, and length and learn about physics principles, including gravitation, potential energy, kinetic energy, projectile motion, friction, centripetal force, velocity, and acceleration.
